No sneaker had a comeback like the Nike Dunk in 2020. The amount of must-have Dunk collaborations and classic colorways that were released last year alone read like a collection of some other shoe’s greatest hits.

Conventional wisdom would have you believe that the vintage basketball shoe’s popularity would have died down some by now, but as we’re about to show you, that isn’t the case. Styles from the shoe’s archives, not to mention a whole suite of new women’s-exclusive colorways, are pacing the Dunk’s hype trail in 2022 and beyond.

With so many new Dunks coming out this year, many of which are quite affordable, it doesn’t look like the timeless silhouette will be fading into obscurity anytime soon.

These are some of our favorite Nike Dunks priced at $250 or less.

Fragment x Nike Dunk High “City Pack – Beijing 2021”

The Fragment x Nike Dunk High “Beijing” looks a little different than the version from 2010’s “City Pack” due to the fact that Nike did away with its original mismatching color block, but the modern “Beijing” is still a piece of sneaker history.

Nike Dunk High “Game Royal”

It doesn’t get more iconic for the Nike Dunk than the “Game Royal,” otherwise known as the “Kentucky” colorway from 1985’s “Be True to Your School” pack. The white-and-blue design was once the team shoe of the Kentucky Wildcats college basketball team and is now a fan favorite for its less-is-more appearance.

Women’s Nike Dunk Low “Green Strike”

There’s conflicting information on the background of the Women’s Nike Dunk Low “Green Strike.” Some have said its colorful design mimics classic Apple logos; others say differently. Who knows? Who cares? The “Green Strike” is a fun shoe either way.

Nike Dunk High “Black/White”

We’re not sure why the “Panda” Dunk Low gets all the love, because we think this high-top version is just as nice.

Women’s Nike Dunk Low “White/Black”

If you’re digging the popular white and black “Panda” Dunk trend but want to wear something a little different than everybody else, we highly recommend this alternate take on the color scheme.

Nike Dunk High “Pure Platinum”

The Nike Dunk High “Pure Platinum” is to the Dunk line as what the Air Jordan 1 High ‘85 “Neutral Grey” is to the Air Jordan collection: a timeless shoe in a colorway that looks great beat up or box fresh.

Women’s Nike Dunk High “Football Grey”

Nike is releasing more women’s-exclusive Dunk colorways in 2021 than ever before. One of our favorite options for women is the “Football Grey,” a two-tone, white-and-grey vibe that looks awfully similar to another pretty stellar colorway we’ll be mentioning shortly.

Nike Dunk Low “Midas Gold”

You don’t have to be a USC Trojans fan to appreciate this great colorway of the Dunk Low.

Nike Dunk Low “Fossil Rose”

This super-clean Dunk Low in suede definitely has a spring color palette, but who could resist wearing a pair this nice all year long?

Nike Dunk Low “Dark Marina Blue”

There’s really not much to say about this colorway other than it simply looks great. Unless you don’t like blue sneakers. But why wouldn’t you like blue sneakers?

Nike Dunk High “Varsity Maize”

You knew it would only be a matter of time before Nike brought back the Dunk’s original “Iowa” colorway after other collegiate Dunks like the “Syracuse,” “St. John’s,” and “Michigan” served some serious nostalgia in 2020. Maybe with the release of the “Varsity Maize,” Nike will finally give us a retail version of the unreleased “Wu-Tang Clan” Dunk from 1999. After all, the hip-hop group’s iconic shoe is based on the “Varsity Maize” or “Iowa” (or “Goldenrod”) colorway.
